Private Education Act

Enacted in October 2009, the Private Education Act established the Council for Private Education (CPE), which was restructured as the Committee for Private Education (CPE) under SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) in October 2016. Following the dissolution of CPE in October 2024, SSG assumed direct regulatory oversight of the private education sector. With the establishment of the Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) on 1 July 2026 through the merger of SSG and Workforce Singapore (WSG), SWDA now exercises regulatory authority over the private education sector in Singapore.

The regulatory framework includes the Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF) and the EduTrust Certification Scheme. The ERF sets out the legal requirements for registration, while EduTrust certifies institutions that meet higher standards in corporate governance, academic quality, student support, and financial sustainability. For more information, please visit the SWDA website.

Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA)

The Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) is the statutory board responsible for overseeing Singapore’s skills development and workforce initiatives, including the regulation of the private education sector. Established on 1 July 2026 through the merger of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and Workforce Singapore (WSG), SWDA administers the Private Education Act and regulates Private Education Institutions (PEIs) through the Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF), while upholding quality standards across the sector.

AceTek College (Reg. No.: 200821327E) is a registered Private Education Institution with the Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA), with its registration valid from 21 June 2023 to 20 June 2027.

Note: Registration is mandatory under the Private Education Act but does not constitute endorsement, accreditation, or recognition of the institution or its courses by SWDA. The value and recognition of qualifications awarded by Private Education Institutions should be assessed by prospective employers, educational institutions, and individuals based on their own requirements and criteria.
