WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1
Course Synopsis:
This course aims to equip food handlers with the knowledge and skills to follow food safety and hygiene procedures and policies, as well as maintain the cleanliness the food establishment premises. Food Safety Course Level 1 is a mandatory training program for all food and beverage staff working in SFA licensed food establishments and/or anyone interested to learn safe food preparation
Course Objectives:
On completion of the course, learners will be able to:
- Practice Good Personal Hygiene
- Use safe ingredients and prevent cross-contamination
- Handle high-risk and ready-to-eat foods safely
- Store food safely and apply basic stock rotation practices
- Maintain to cleanliness of equipment, do housekeeping and eliminate evidence of pests

- Fulfil at least 75% attendance for the training
- Marked ‘Competent’ for the assessment to be eligible for funding.
