Course Synopsis:
The Advanced Diploma in Business & Technology offers a comprehensive exploration of key principles and practices essential for success in today’s dynamic business landscape. This program integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills, preparing students for various roles in business and technology sectors. Through a blend of academic coursework, hands-on projects, and industrial attachments, students will develop a deep understanding of core business functions and the technological applications that drive modern enterprises. Course Objectives:
Upon completion of the Advanced Diploma in Business & Technology, students will be able to:

Modules:
1. Academic and Research Skills:
This module focuses on developing foundational academic and research skills essential for success in higher education and professional environments. Students will learn techniques for conducting research, critically analyzing information, synthesizing findings, and effectively communicating research outcomes through various mediums.
2. Business Communication:
In this module, students will enhance their communication abilities in business contexts. Emphasis will be placed on written communication (such as reports and emails), verbal communication (including presentations and interpersonal interactions), and digital communication tools commonly used in professional settings.
3. Financial Decision Making:
This module provides students with the knowledge and tools necessary to make informed financial decisions within a business context. Topics covered include financial analysis, budgeting, investment evaluation, risk management, and financial forecasting.
4. Retail Management
This module explores the principles and practices of retail management, focusing on strategies for effective merchandising, inventory management, sales techniques, customer service, and store operations. Case studies and real-world examples will be used to illustrate key concepts.
5. E-Commerce & Online Business
This module examines the fundamentals of e-commerce and online business models. Students will learn about the opportunities and challenges associated with conducting business online, including website design, digital marketing, payment processing, logistics, and customer relationship management in the virtual space.
6. Human Resource Management
This module covers the essential functions of human resource management within organizations. Topics include recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, employee relations, legal compliance, and strategies for building a positive organizational culture.
7. IT Applications
This module introduces students to various information technology (IT) applications commonly used in business settings. Topics may include office productivity software, database management systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and project management tools.
8. Customer Relationship Management
In this module, students will learn strategies for building and maintaining strong customer relationships. Topics covered include customer segmentation, personalized marketing, customer service best practices, loyalty programs, and the use of technology to enhance the customer experience.
9. Supply Chain Management
This module provides an overview of supply chain management principles and practices. Students will learn about the components of the supply chain, including sourcing, procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution, as well as strategies for optimizing supply chain efficiency and responsiveness.
10. Economics
This module introduces students to economic principles and concepts relevant to business decision-making. Topics may include microeconomics (supply and demand, market structures, pricing) and macroeconomics (inflation, unemployment, fiscal and monetary policy), as well as their applications in business strategy and policy analysis.
11. Entrepreneurship
In this module, students will explore the entrepreneurial mindset and the process of starting and managing a business venture. Topics covered may include opportunity recognition, business planning, financing options, marketing strategies, risk management, and innovation.
12. Project
Participation in an industrial attachment is mandatory and forms an essential component of the course. In the event that a student is unable to secure a suitable internship due to circumstances beyond the college’s control, the alternative requirement will be the completion of a Project Work (Project in lieu of IA will be of 3 months duration).

Attendance: | Students must attend at least 75% of the scheduled classes to be eligible for assessment. International students with a valid Student’s Pass must maintain a 90% monthly class attendance. Continuous absence for seven days or falling below the 90% threshold without valid reason, will lead to Student’s Pass cancellation. | |

Graduation Criteria: | Students who have successfully completed the course by passing every module will be awarded the Advanced Diploma in Business and Technology by AceTek College. |
