Course Synopsis:

The Diploma in Cosmetology and Brand Innovation provides learners with a comprehensive foundation in beauty science, cosmetology practices, customer experience, and beauty brand development. The programme combines practical cosmetology knowledge with contemporary business, branding, and digital innovation concepts, preparing graduates for careers in beauty salons, wellness centres, cosmetic retail businesses, beauty marketing, and beauty entrepreneurship.

Learners will develop competencies in skin and beauty care, beauty enhancement services, customer consultation, retail operations, digital branding, and AI-assisted marketing tools. The programme also introduces beauty product innovation, consumer behaviour, and brand-building strategies relevant to the rapidly evolving beauty industry.

Through practical learning activities and industry-relevant projects, graduates will be equipped with the technical, commercial, and digital skills required to contribute effectively to modern beauty and wellness enterprises.

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of the programme, learners will be able to:

  • Demonstrate essential beauty services, including facials and nail artistry, with a focus on high hygiene standards.
  • Explain the safety protocols and technical principles of non-invasive technologies such as IPL and microdermabrasion.

Modules:

1. Skin Health, Nutrition and Holistic Wellness

This module introduces the foundational concepts of skin and hair health, focusing on the relationship between internal wellness and external appearance. Students will develop an understanding of common skin concerns and how nutrition, lifestyle habits, and environmental factors influence overall beauty and wellness outcomes. The module also introduces holistic wellness concepts and the practical application of aromatherapy in professional beauty and wellness settings.

2. Professional Beauty Services and Nail Artistry

This core module focuses on the concepts and practices of manicure, pedicure, and hair removal services commonly performed in beauty environments. The module places strong emphasis on hygiene, Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) practices, sterilisation procedures, and infection control standards required in professional beauty settings.

3. Facial Therapy and Skin Management

This module focuses on professional skin analysis and customised skincare management. Students will learn consultation techniques, skincare product selection, and facial treatment concepts based on different skin conditions and client needs. The module also introduces facial massage concepts and skin management routines used in beauty environments, enabling learners to develop appropriate skincare recommendations for different customer profiles.

4. Beauty Enhancement and Makeup Artistry

This module introduces modern beauty enhancement concepts, including lash, brow, hair, and makeup-related services. Students will learn the principles of beauty enhancement, scalp care, beauty styling concepts, and non-invasive enhancement approaches commonly used in beauty environments.

5. Beauty Technology and Innovation

This module provides a foundation in the technologies commonly used in modern beauty and aesthetic environments. Students will learn the principles, safety considerations, contraindications, and professional awareness associated with IPL, laser hair removal concepts, microdermabrasion, digital skin analysis technologies, and emerging innovations within the beauty industry.

6. Client Consultation, Customer Experience and Personal Branding

This module develops the communication and interpersonal skills required for professional beauty service environments. Students will explore beauty psychology, customer behaviour, consultation techniques, and methods for handling client concerns while building positive long-term customer relationships. The module also introduces professional image management and personal branding concepts relevant to beauty professionals.

7. Beauty Retail Operations and Brand Management

This module provide operational understanding in beauty retail environments, this module introduces inventory management, ethical upselling techniques, customer retention strategies, and loyalty programme concepts commonly used in beauty businesses. Students will also explore beauty brand positioning, customer engagement strategies, merchandising concepts, and the role of retail operations in supporting brand growth and customer loyalty.

8. AI-Powered Digital Marketing and Beauty Entrepreneurship

This module introduces digital marketing and entrepreneurship concepts relevant to beauty businesses. Students will learn social media strategies, branding approaches, customer engagement methods, and the importance of data protection when managing client information and digital platforms. The module also introduces AI-enabled tools for content creation, customer personalisation, digital advertising, campaign planning, and business analytics, ensuring graduates are equipped with the digital competencies expected in contemporary beauty Industry

9. Project

Participation in an industrial attachment is mandatory and forms an essential component of the course. In the event that a student is unable to secure a suitable internship due to circumstances beyond the college’s control, the alternative requirement will be the completion of a Project Work (Project in lieu of IA will be of 3 months duration).

Attendance:Students must attend at least 75% of the scheduled classes to be eligible for assessment.
International students with a valid Student’s Pass must maintain a 90% monthly class attendance. Continuous absence for seven days or falling below the 90% threshold without valid reason will lead to Student’s Pass cancellation.
Assessment Method:Assessment will be conducted through a combination of assignment or practical tasks (e.g. Project reports, case analysis, presentations or practical exercise)
Graduation Criteria:Students who have successfully completed the course by passing all required modules will be awarded the Diploma in Cosmetology and Brand Innovationby AceTek College.
